Agression/abus et spirituel, voici deux notions qui semblent appartenir à deux univers diamétralement opposés. Et pourtant, des comportements transgressifs sont aussi à déplorer dans le cadre de l’accompagnement spirituel, pouvant dans certains cas aller à jusqu’à des agressions sexuelles.

“In early November, a delegation of Jesuits in PRO (Frs. Jad Chebly, Gabriel Khairallah, Doug Jones, and Dan Corrou) visited the campus of Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q). They were hosted by Fr. Ryan Maher, S.J. (UEA), who currently teaches at GU-Q and is the only Jesuit on staff. They had the chance to meet with a number of administrators, faculty members, and students. The delegation was invited as part of ongoing discussions between GU-Q, USJ, and JRS as to possible ways to deepen collaboration in teaching, research, and internships.

Ayant été invité à donner ce témoignage sur la dimension de proximité que je vis dans mon service sacerdotal, je voudrais commencer par une précision : je suis proche des gens, mais je ne suis pas populaire.
وصلت في شهر أيلول/سبتمبر من السنة الماضية إلى مدينة نامور Namur في بلجيكا وذلك من أجل القيام بخدمات رعوية أساسية في أبرشية إقليم نامور. أبرشية نامور لها انتشار كبير في ريف بلجيكا الناطقة باللغة الفرنسية ويبلغ عدد كنائسها (رعاياها) حوالي ال ٧٥٠ كنيسة يخدمها ٢٣٠ كاهن أكثر من ثلهم أجانب من أصول أفريقية بمعظمهم، ومن الثلثين المتبقيين من الكهنة البجيكيين تبلغ نسبة من هم من أصول أجنبية أكثر من النص. ما أقوله إن دل على شيئ فإنما يدل على تلون كنيسة بلجيكا وعلى فقرها بالدعوات، فالكثير من الكنائس والقرى لا تستطيع أن تؤمن للأسف اليوم لمؤمنيها قداس يوم الرب الأسبوعي. كنيسة فقيرة إذا ولكن فقرها هو من نوع آخر يختلف كثيرا عن فقر كنائسنا في بلدان الإقليم والشرق عامة.
هدف إقامتي هو كما أسلفت رعوي خالص. عند وصولي إلى جماعة نامور اليسوعية طلب مني الأسقف المحلي أن ألتزم في وحدة رعوية Unité Pastorale مؤلفة من ست قرى في بلدية Profondeville كما طلب مني أن أن أكون وبدوام جزئي مع فريق الرعاية الكاثوليكية في مستشفى Godinne الجامعي وفي بيت مار توما لرعاية المسنين.
يبلغ عدد السكان في بلديتي حوالي ١٣٠٠٠ ساكن. يبلغ عدد من يأتون إلى قداس الأحد الأسبوعي في القرى الستة حوالي ٢٠٠ شخص. قمنا في السنة المنصرمة بالاحتفال بالمناولة الأولى ل ٣٢ طفل وطفلة بالإضافة إلى ١٥ يافع ويافعة كانوا قد تقدموا إلى سر التثبيت. مرة أخرى فقر روحي كبير…السؤال الإيماني هو سؤال مؤجل في بلجيكا اليوم…ولكن هذا السؤال كامن في نفوس الناس ولا يلبث أن يظهر وبشكل قوي في كل مرة أكون فيها مع مريض في المستشفى أو في دار المسنين عندما المريض ذاته أو ذويه يبدؤون بطرح سؤال المعنى أمام حياة تذبل وأمام موت يقوى وذلك رغم كل سبل الرعاية الطبية والاجتماعية المتاحة.
يوجد الكثير من العمل وعلى الرغم من هذا الفقر الروحي الكبير فالتعزيات حاضرة في ابتسامة كل شخص يقول لي بعد كل احتفال شكرا لأنك معنا ولأنك أتحت لي الفرصة اليوم لنيل جسد المسيح. على صعيد شخصي أنا أعيش كل يوم تحدي السؤال المتعب : هل الله أمين على وعده لي ولكنيسته (كنيسة بلجيكا) اليوم ؟ إن كانت القصة متعلقة بي فأنا عندي كل الأسباب وفيني من الضعف ما يكفي لأن أقفل الباب ورائي ولكن الله أمين ولا يعدم السبل من أجل أن يخلق من جديد.

La présence de la Compagnie de Jésus à Laâyoune, terre de frontière et d’espérance
À l’extrême sud du Maroc, dans la Préfecture apostolique du Sahara, la Compagnie de Jésus a ouvert une nouvelle étape de sa mission au service de l’Église locale et des personnes en transit. Depuis septembre 2024, la communauté Bienheureux Luc Dochier s’est déplacée de Nador à Laâyoune, répondant à l’évolution des routes migratoires.

“Fr. Doug (Douglas) Jones, SJ is a member of the USA East Province (UEA). He was ordained a priest on June 14, 2025 in New York City. Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Doug met the Jesuits while attending The University of Scranton. It was also at university that he spent a semester in Amman and fell in love with the Middle East. He entered the Society of Jesus in August 2016, after completing a doctorate in Middle East politics, which brought him back to Jordan for a year of research.
