La délicate notion d’abus spirituel
Agression/abus et spirituel, voici deux notions qui semblent appartenir à deux univers diamétralement opposés. Et pourtant, des comportements transgressifs sont aussi à déplorer dans le cadre de l’accompagnement spirituel, pouvant dans certains cas aller à jusqu’à des agressions sexuelles.

“In early November, a delegation of Jesuits in PRO (Frs. Jad Chebly, Gabriel Khairallah, Doug Jones, and Dan Corrou) visited the campus of Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q). They were hosted by Fr. Ryan Maher, S.J. (UEA), who currently teaches at GU-Q and is the only Jesuit on staff. They had the chance to meet with a number of administrators, faculty members, and students. The delegation was invited as part of ongoing discussions between GU-Q, USJ, and JRS as to possible ways to deepen collaboration in teaching, research, and internships.

Ayant été invité à donner ce témoignage sur la dimension de proximité que je vis dans mon service sacerdotal, je voudrais commencer par une précision : je suis proche des gens, mais je ne suis pas populaire.
عُقِدَ لقاء الدارسين اليسوعيين في بكفيا بين ٢٠ و٢٥ تموز/يوليو. وقد كان اللقاء الأخير الذي جمعهم في صيف ٢٠١٩. كان مُنشّط اللقاء جاد جبور اليسوعي. وكان الهدف من اللقاء مساعدة الدارسين على التعرف بشكل أعمق على بعضهم، ومشاركة خبراتهم ومسيراتهم المختلفة في الرهبنة. لذلك كان اليوم الأوّل من اللقاء مُخصّص بكامله للمشاركة بما عاشه كلّ واحد في الرهبنة وكيف كان الله حاضرًا ويعمل في حياته. واحتفل بالقدّاس على الطقس القبطي الكاهن الجديد جوزيف جبرايل اليسوعيّ. وكان اليوم الثاني فرصة لقضاء وقت مجاني معًا. فكان النصف الأوّل من اليوم مخصّص لقضاء وقت خارج الدير. فجزء من الدارسين ذهب في مسير في وادي الصليب. وأمّا الجزء الثاني ذهب إلى البحر. وفي مساء ذلك اليوم توجّه الجميع إلى مدرسة سيدة الجمهور للمشاركة في قداس النذور الاحتفالية للآب جاد شبلي اليسوعي.
أما اليوم الثالث فكان مُخصّصًا للتفكير في تغيير العصر الذي نعيشه. في النصف الأوّل من اليوم قام الأب فيكتور أسود اليسوعيّ بعرض أهمّ المتغييرات التي تطرأ على العالم بشكل عامّ، وكيف يمكن أن نرى رسالتنا اليسوعية وهويّتنا في ظلّ هذه التحديّات. وقد شارك الدارسون في مجموعات صغيرة كيف يعيش كلّ واحد فيهم هذه التغييرات. أمّا النصف الثاني من ذاك اليوم فقد نشّطه سيدنا سيزار ايسيان مطران اللاتين في لبنان. وكان الموضوع الرئيسيّ هو التغييرات التي تحدث في الكنيسة المحليّة والدور الذي يمكن أن تلعبه الرهبنة اليسوعية في هذا الواقع. واحتفل الدارسون بالقداس في هذا اليوم بحسب الطقس الماروني، وترأّس القدّاس انترانيك كوروكيان اليسوعي. وانتهى هذا اليوم بمشاركة الدارسين الذين يعيشون في سوريا بتطوّرات الوضع الاجتماعي والسياسي والأقتصادي هناك، وبعرض رسالات الرهبنة في سوريا.
إمّا اليوم الرابع فكان كلّه مكرّسًا للتفكير في موضوع علاقة اليسوعي بالسلطة والرؤساء داخل الرهبنة. وذلك إنطلاقًا من مرجع كتابي وهو نموذج بطرس وعلاقته بالمسيح. وقد نشّط اليوم جاد شبلي اليسوعي. وقد ترأس جاد جبور القدّاس بالطقس البيزنطي. واختُتِم اليوم بعرض للوضع الراهن في الأردن ووضع الرهبنة ورسالاتها هناك من قبل مؤيد معايعة اليسوعيّ. كما عرض الدارسون المصريون الوضع في مصر.
وكان اليوم الأخير مُخصّصًا لإعادة قراءة الخبرة وتقييمها. وقد ترأس القداس بالطقس اللاتيني طوني حمصي اليسوعيّ. وأثناء هذا التقييم اتّفق الدارسون أن يقوموا بعمل رسالة مشتركة تجمعهم في الصيف المقبل. وبحضور الرئيس الأقليمي تم تعيين كلّ من إميل جبرايل، ودانيال عطالله، وجوليان زكا الراسي.

La présence de la Compagnie de Jésus à Laâyoune, terre de frontière et d’espérance
À l’extrême sud du Maroc, dans la Préfecture apostolique du Sahara, la Compagnie de Jésus a ouvert une nouvelle étape de sa mission au service de l’Église locale et des personnes en transit. Depuis septembre 2024, la communauté Bienheureux Luc Dochier s’est déplacée de Nador à Laâyoune, répondant à l’évolution des routes migratoires.

Fr. Doug (Douglas) Jones, SJ
“Fr. Doug (Douglas) Jones, SJ is a member of the USA East Province (UEA). He was ordained a priest on June 14, 2025 in New York City. Originally from Scranton, Pennsylvania, Doug met the Jesuits while attending The University of Scranton. It was also at university that he spent a semester in Amman and fell in love with the Middle East. He entered the Society of Jesus in August 2016, after completing a doctorate in Middle East politics, which brought him back to Jordan for a year of research.
