بين التحدي والنعمة خبراتُ عامٍ بين الخدمة والدراسة
عندما بدأت مرحلة التمييز لاختيار التخصص الذي سأتابع فيه دروسيّ اللاهوتيّة، كان هناك مُؤشراتٌ كثيرة تقودني نحو القانون الكنسيّ، سواء من خلال رغبة بعض المُكوّنين، أو مَيْلي الشخصيّ. ومع ذلك، لم يكن هذا الخيار يثيرُ الحماسة لدى كثيرين. فكانت ردودُ الفعل تتكرر كلَّما ذَكرتُ هذه الرغبة: ماذا سيفعلُ الِيسوعيّ بدراسةِ القانون الكنسيّ؟ كيف يمكن لهذا التخصص أن يخدم رسالتنا؟. كنتُ أسمعُ هذه الأسئلةَ وغيرها، وربما حملت بعضها في داخلي أيضًا.
خبرة شهر أروبي (Arrupe): شهر التحضير للكهنوت
في مطلع شهر يوليو 2026، اجتمعنا نحن الثلاثة: مايكل، وحسام، ورامز، وبدأنا خبرة شهر أروبي (Arrupe)، أي «شهر التحضير للكهنوت»، برفقة الأب ماجد رضاني، في دير الآباء اليسوعيّين بالإسكندرية.
It has been a challenging year for many migrants in Lebanon. Our community members have weathered rising rents and scarcer work, fears of expanding conflict, travel restrictions, and a whole host of daily difficulties. And yet, Easter joy abounds! The joy of the resurrection was made obvious this last week here in the AMC. Our whole community gathered for the Paschal Triduum to walk with Christ through his death and resurrection.
As domestic workers are often only able to leave their employers’ homes for a few hours on Sunday, we have begun live-streaming all of our services, and nearly 700members of our community joined the Easter Vigil online, brining paschal joy even into places of confinement. Likewise, we were able to expand this year into offering Easter mass in Dowra, a neighborhood ofBeirut that is closer to where many migrants and refugees live. OnEaster Sunday, both the AMC and our Dowra mass were fuller than ever! Couples for Christ, Children of Mary, and the Bakhita group, faith groups led by migrants and refugees, prepared a generous meal together for the whole community to share after Mass. Looking around at those who gathered, domestic workers from the Philippines, SriLanka, and all over Africa—from Nigeria to Kenya—refugees fromSudan and South Sudan, Lebanese families, visitors from Europe, and our local Jesuit community, the Kingdom of God never felt so close.Happy Easter from the Arrupe Migrant Center!

Nous étions 81 participants, dont trois jésuites de notre Province, Zaki, Maged et moi. C’était mon premier séjour à la « Cova Sant Ignasi », même si je m’y étais rendu avec le groupe des scolastiques du Proche-Orient en 1999. Ce n’était qu’une courte visite. Cette fois, grâce aux groupes de prière matinale, j’ai pu visiter les lieux ignatiens. Cer-tains de ses lieux m’ont pris par surprise : là où Ignace a passé huit jours en extase, et là où il a sauvé une poule noyée… Tant pis pour les miracles, la vue du magnifique Montserrat faisait ma joie de chaque matin.
Penser l’éducation en 2100
L’Université Catholique de Lille, tout comme l’Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, a célébré en 2025 ses cent cinquante ans d’existence. Fondée en 1875 par la hiérarchie catholique, elle a choisi de marquer cet anniversaire non seulement par une commémoration du passé, mais aussi par un exercice de prospective tourné vers l’avenir. La question qui a guidé cette démarche était aussi ambitieuse que nécessaire : à quoi pourrait ressembler l’éducation en 2100 ?
لم أذهب إلى حلب لأغيّرها
عندما كنت أنهي سنتي الأخيرة في الفلسفة، كانت مشاعري مُحمّلة بترقّب لرسالة لم أعرف شكلها بعد. وقلق على مستقبل بلدٍ عاش الحرب لمدة خمسة عشر عامًا، ولم ينتهِ بعد من المجازر. سرعان ما تحوّل هذا القلق إلى حماسٍ لبداية جديدةٍ حين أُخبرت بأن خدمتي ستكون في مدينة حلب.
